Windsurfing: felixstowe dip Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: f5/6 Surf / Sea State: waves Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: cloudy Max Speed: 25.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 14.3 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Some of the lads went point clear Clacton but didn't I want to travel. Wind
swung sw at the dip and met Strawb shredding it as usually making it look
easy on 5 although he looked over powered. Rigged 5.7 set flat and was a
bit over at times. I was worried about the walk of shame so started with
the 125 HAWK, but it was a nightmare. The sea was too rough and
travelling way too fast. Switch to the Fanatic 105 free wave and swopped
the standard 28cm which seemed too small for the board for a 34cm. As I
weigh 105kg with suit the 34 fin transformed the board and at last I could
get up wind! Why I didn't do that be4 I will never know. Great session at
low tide still plenty of wind and waves were separate. My poor gybing ratio
continues with some spectacular face plant wipe out, even managing to
damage the bd with the harness hook. Others appear to be having a nice time
and how Maker managed to sail Clacton then Felixstowe I will never know.
Kept bd speed down to stay in control. Had to change from a spring suit to
summer as overcome with heat exhaustion again. Need to lose 5kg to be able
to use this superb board more.
